DIE AUTOREN

Martin Dixon. Lecturer in Music at the University of Glasgow UK. His research interests lie in the area of philosophy, critical theory and contemporary music.

Clemens Gresser. Studium der Neueren Literaturwissenschaften und Kunstgeschichte (Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt am Main) sowie Musikwissenschaft (M.A. an der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt am Main; Keele University, UK). Seit Oktober 2000 Doktorand und Teaching Assistant an der University of Southampton, UK.

Rebecca Grotjahn. Promotion 1997 (Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover): Die Sinfonie im deutschen Kulturgebiet 1850 bis 1875. Ein Beitrag zur Gattungs- und Institutionengeschichte, Sinzig 1998. Seit 2001 Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am DFG-geförderten eigenen Forschungsprojekt "Sängerinnen und Sängerinnen-Bilder im 19. Jahrhundert" (Hochschule für Musik Köln).

Frank Mehring. Geb. 1970. Studium der Anglistik, Geschichts- und Musikwissenschaften. 2001 Promotion in Giessen. 1995/96 Visiting Scholar an der University of Wisconsin-Madison. 1997/98 Visiting Fellow an der Harvard University. Derzeit Forschungstätigkeit am John F. Kennedy Institut in Berlin.

David Nicholls. Professor of Music at the University of Southampton (GB). He has published widely on American music, notably in American Experimental Music, 1890-1940 (CUP, 1990), and as contributing editor of The Cambridge History of American Music (CUP, 1998) and The Cambridge Companion to John Cage (CUP, 2002). He is editor of the journal American Music, and is currently writing a musical biography of John Cage aimed at lay readers.

Ronny Porsch. Geb. 1974. Studium der Schul- und Instrumentalmusik sowie der Musik-, Literatur- und Erziehungswissenschaften an den Universitäten Köln, Würzburg und Saarbrücken (Prof. Dr. Herbert Schneider). Er ist Mitarbeiter der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung und darüber hinaus als freier Musikpublizist tätig.

Nico Schüler. Geb. 1970. Studium der Musikerziehung, Musikwissenschaft, Philosophie und Informatik (M.A. 1995, E.-M.-Arndt-Universität Greifswald). 2000 Ph.D. in Musiktheorie (Michigan State University, USA). Derzeit Asst. Professor of Music Theory und Leiter des Bereiches Musiktheorie an der Southwest Texas State University. Forschungen zu interdisziplinären Aspekten moderner Musik, Computer-Anwendungen in der Musikforschung, Musikanalyse und Methodologie der Musikforschung.
